After previously being rejected three times, the new state building and fire codes finally passed the legislature's Regulations Review Committee unanimously at their meeting yesterday. The new codes will be effective as of October 1st (Projects for which a permit is applied for from 10/1 forward).

There will be an approximately 3-month "grace period" for projects that may be "significantly impacted", however one must apply for a modification through the State Building Inspector in order to continue under the prior code.
