Dear Fellow Industry Leader,

As promised, the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) has issued lawfully binding guidance about which businesses are considered essential.

HVAC Contractors are listed as essential.

Business Exemptions for Coronavirus - Executive Order 7H

NOW, THEREFORE, I, NED LAMONT, Governor ofthe State ofConnecticut, by vittue ofthe authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the State of Connecticut, do hereby ORDER AND DIRECT:

I. Restrictions on Workplaces for Non-Essential Businesses. Effective on Mm·ch 23, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. and through April 22, 2020, unless earlier modified, extended, or terminated by me, all businesses and not-for-profit entities in the state shall employ, to the maximum extent possible, any telecommuting or work from home procedures that they can safely employ. Non-essential businesses or not-for-profit entities shall reduce their in-person workforces at any workplace locations by 100% not later than March 23, 2020 at 8 p.m. Any essential business or entity providing essential goods, services, or functions shall not be subject to these in person restrictions.

9. Construction including:
• all skilled trades such as electricians, HVAC, and plumbers
• general construction, both commercial and residential
• other related construction firms and professionals for essential infrastructure or for emergency repair and safety purposes
• planning, engineering, design, bridge inspection, and other construction support activities
